Welcome to Atea Lodge

Set 122 metres above sea level on the side of the Tokatea mountain range this boutique Lodge sits amongst lush native bush and gardens. Spectacular views out to Waiheke Island, Te Kouma harbour and beyond create an ambience of serenity and ever changing vistas.

Only five minutes drive (3.8 km) from the quaint historical town of Coromandel, Atea Lodge provides boutique accommodation for the discerning traveller.

The luxury suites are surrounded by an expansive Queenslander style covered deck to enjoy the panoramic view – rain or shine. Only two of the three suites are occupied at a time, ensuring a quiet peaceful experience.

Automatic closing gates ensure your security and peace of mind – closing the world out for you to relax and enjoy your time with us.

Ample parking is provided.

Wander down to the unique wooden beamed Lounge to enjoy a book or play on the full sized billiard table. Relax on a seat in the bush-lined garden overlooking the large pond and watch the Fantails and Tui’s play – or treat yourself to a soak in our outdoor bath.

The panoramic clear views and open space embraces the name Atea. On a clear night the stars are incredible for stargazing and astrophotography.

Unlimited high speed Fibre WiFi is available for you to enjoy.

With only two rooms used and a maximum of four guests, Atea Lodge’s two acres of grounds and gardens offer plenty of space for you to relax in.

Dining

A superb cafe-style breakfast is included, served between 7.30am and 9am in the dining room or on the deck enjoying the amazing view. Examples from our menu include homemade muesli with yoghurt, honey and berry compote, french toast with bacon or warm berries, and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and spinach. Enjoy an orange juice, expresso coffee or selection of teas to accompany your breakfast. Please advise us in advance if you have any dietary requirements.

There are a number of restaurants, cafes and take out options for lunch and dinner in Coromandel Town, five minutes drive away.

There are no cooking facilities for guests at the Lodge.

Lounge

Relax in the lounge on the sofa with a book, board game, TV or Netflix. Alternatavely play pool or snooker on the full sized table while enjoying our premium music system.

Garden

Stroll around the property, past beautiful rock walls and gardens to the large pond where you can have a seat and enjoy the serenity among native bush and birdlife.

Outdoor bath

Rejuvenate in our private outdoor claw foot bath in the garden by the pond. A romantic touch for the ultimate in relaxation under the magical stars, or by day to experience the sights and sounds of our Coromandel flora and fauna.
